2008-2009 Officers

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks

Founded in New York, on February 16, 1868, the Order of Elks is a patriotic, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian organization of over 2,100 Elks Lodges throughout the United States.

Our San Mateo Lodge No. 1112 was chartered in 1908. Our original location was 336 South B Street until 1954 when under the leadership of ER Raymond Daba, we moved to our current location here on 20th Avenue. We are part of the Bay District of the California-Hawaii Elks Association.

As a fraternal order, the Elks are dedicated to the practice of charity in its broadest sense. Our lodges spend over thirty million dollars annually on charitable and welfare work. The majority of this effort goes directly to benefit local programs, which directly impact the communities in which we serve.

Additionally, the Elks are committed to honoring and REMEMBERING the men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces. National and local Elks National Service programs provide aid and assistance to our veterans hospitals and rehabilitation centers throughout the nation.

The Elks National Memorial to our veterans is in Chicago, Illinois, site of the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
